GRADS card- the cheap way to get extra baggage allowance

dear friends, are you planning to travel by MAS?

are you worried that your luggage is heavier than 20kg?

if your answer is YES, than i have a cheap and simple solution for your problem.

Just apply for a GRADS card.

what is a GRADS card?

it is basically a student card. if you become a member, you will get several benefits which you can check out for yourself on their website. however, they did not state that members will be entitled an extra 10kg baggage allowance there but since our seniors cakap, tak kan lah diorang nak tipu kite sempene bulan puase yang mulie ni.

what do I have to do?

simply dl the form or you can just go to the office and get the form there.

what do i have to bring?

1. a copy of ur ic or passport.

2. 2 passport size pics

3. a copy of ur offer letter

4. rm25 in cash or bank draft or cheque. ( bawa duit cukup, bukannye mahal pun)

where is the office located?

aha! this is super important. they are currently located at jalan sultan ismail but as of tmrw (09/09/09), they are relocating at kl central. if u wish to go today, u can take the monorail and stop at the bukit nanas station. the office is just 3 buildings away. its a brown building, slightly slanting to the front. ade tulis kementrian something2 kat depan. the office is on the first floor.

oh no, does this mean if i dont go today i will not be able to get my GRADS card?

no silly. the new office is situated at KL central which is easily accessible by lrt, ktm or bus. they will resume business on 14/09/09. the new office is located at the ground floow, next to maybank.

if i plan to 'fly' on the 14th, masih sempat ke nak buat GRADS card?

the answer is YES! this is because you will get ur card on the spot! the whole process takes approximately 10 mins.

so now with the extra 10kg, u can bring more brahims, rice cooker and curry powder or even more clothes and most importantly, more kuih raya :(.
