getting there

today dad let me experiment with his d300 again ;). and today's theme was 'mom's kitchen'. we stole some onions, sugar,salt,vege and the list goes on. hehe. sorry mom.

we used a tripod cuz my hands are not that stable yet, or perhaps it never will be. hehe. dad's hands were shaking too. that is worrying me. it has been 20 years since the brain surgery. i fear that its a relapse. :(

owh well. so yeah. better pics and i really had fun today :).

4. My firsts of many

-going to the movies alone- i watched 'the day the earth stood still' at alamanda. the movie was not that good but it was a great experience. ;). i would definitely go to the cinemas alone again :)

-ice skating- went with the bpkc klan. (dan, juls and mim) i fell, once. not bad for a beginner huh. but it was brief. only half an hour.

-baby sitting a hamster- effa had to attend some seminar and his family went to indo. so yeah, he left Toby with me. cute lil fella. but he bites, a lot.

-going out at night with daddy's permission- yes people, the ban of no night outings has ben lifted!!

-travelling alone with daddy- daddy decided to drive back to kelantan for the eid celebration. it was only me n him. we talked a lot along the way. i guess i've gained his trust and thus the abolishment of the aforementioned ruling.


5. upgrading my crib

finally mom and dad agreed to remove the extra bed from my room (although technically its kak nadi's room as well). bought some new furniture and reaplaced the curtains and carpet. harris helped me to pick out some stuff. and the theme is BLACK!! guess i just cant wait to become a lawyer and surround myself with the dark and boring colour ;)

highlights and lowlights of my hols

there is only one week left til my fourth and final semester in KYUEM begins. how time files. so i guess it would not hurt if i write down important events that happened throughout the hols. it has been the most exciting hols after all and if my memory serves me well, its the only holiday which i've never uttered the word bored :). so here we go.

1. suprise visits
-the first house was ayzie's :). well it was not really a suprsie visit since i had to call her to get her address and directions. after several u turns and calls and sms'es since harris and ayzies instructions were not much of a help. i finally arrived at her crib. lovely place. we did some catching up while harris was praying. it was really nice meeting her and the baby girl as well. can't remember her name but she was ADORABLE

-a few days later, aak and i decided to crash at fiqss. fiqss did not buy my story that i was bringing my blind boyfriend along. lol. (fiqss, i always knew that u were to smart for my lame trics). fiqss' directions were better than ayzie's ;), or perhaps its because i'm quite familliar with that area since its near SMAKL. owh well, it was nice hanging out with fiqss. later, we picked ayie up and threw aak a suprise birthday celebration with ara at belecious (farewell rasta, belecious is the place to be). it was really fun till my mom summoned me home with one simple text message- l net?- mom its LNAT lah. haha. but yeah, we had fun right girls.

-azu and zammykins together with kamal, i think, paid me a suprise visit. unfortunately, i was not at home. out shishaing with kak millie at rasta. millie experienced another effed up day and needed to get out (to smoke obviously)

-finally, my relatives from kuantan decided to suprise us yesterday. only to find out that they arrived simultaneously with some other relatives from kelantan. it was pretty hectic serving lunch to a crowd of 20+ loud and noisy relatives. obviously the menu is nasi lauk kelantan. all the santan based cooking and ikan bakar with budu for the elderly who are suffering from diabetis. its okay ayah wi. u've ate all the santan u needed when u were younger ;)

2. bbq's

-MIM's bbq was the first and the best bbq i've attended in my 19 years of living. lol. it was my first bbq so i did not really know how to act. so, i took the easy way out and sticked to people that i'm really close too. thank god all the guests were ppl from college so there were no awkward moments. owh, thanks dannykins for showing the way and escorting me back to my house. IOU. and thanks a lot mimfor throwing out such a wonderful party. bet u realy had fun playing twister eyh :)

-i did not plan to attend the ANA's bbq. it was a last min thingy. i just needed to get out of the hosue and meet up with people who wld put a smile on my face. agan, dan showed the way and sent me home. thanks again dannykins. had loads of fun that night teasing nea's apple crumble and just chatting with mim, ban2, bihah, syazzy,azri and the list goes on.

3. toying with slr's

dad has a few slr's which he protects with his life. i always wanted to learn how to use em so dad gave me an opp to try em out during eid. so yeah, i took pics of cow's being slaughtered. it was fun taking up close shots with blood spurting out and stained my ipanema's. lol. but i did not get much satisfaction from that photoshoot. my interest is still in macro shots.

one day i was bored and decided to toy around with my compact olympus. took a few shots of rory (my guitar) and showed em to a few people. some were impressed, many just gave general comments. like, not bad and such. but in a world of cam whoring being a persons hobby, i am not suprised. how many people are interested in taking and up close shot of things just to see the details? erm, very few. and i happen to be one of em :D

and finally, dad let me use his d300 and some special macro lens. i was over the mon. went to lake garden to experiment the camera. owh, it was liberating!! kak milie said that most of my shots were out of focus. well, i'm still learning

well, the weather is good and so is daddy's mood so we are gonna head out and take more shots.
